A "Crafting" Podcast with WAR's Lead Designer

News | June 20, 2008 (2 months, 2 weeks ago) | by Zyuu | Filed in Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning

Marc Jacobs, the Lead Designer of Warhammer Online talks crafting in the video below. Their idea of crafting is to have fun and they want their system to be innovative. Marc tell us how he do not want the crafting system to be a grind. Also, since their plan is to make it innovative, it's not recipe based.

Thoughts on not having recipes and their goal being to not make it feel like you grind? I'm curious how they plan to make it not be grind-based, because most things in life we do end up being a bit "grindy". It's just the way things work. Regardless, let's see how it turns out, also make sure you listen to the whole podcast

Looks interesting... but frankly there's still pretty much gonna be "recipes" that people will find and continue to make. At least there's a chance for something different to happen.

Buddy,

But you will not have to grind like WoW to make useless stuff, just to level to a decent level to make something that is useful. That particularly feature is great improvement on WAR. As Marc said we want to make it enjoyable but not so easy. games are suppose to be challenging..:-)))
