Site Status: Optimizations, Search Temporarily Disabled

Curse.com has undergone a hardware failure yesterday, and one of our media servers is essentially dead. The server is in the process of being rebuilt with new hardware, then will need to be reconfigured. Current estimate for this server being restored is sometime tomorrow (Wednesday July 16th).

While this server is in the process of being restored, our other primary media server is taking on the additional load. This has forced us to temporarily disable some of the functionality on the site. Media re-encoding for videos is down for the moment, as is search functionality for everything other than News posts. Yes, that's correct, temporarily, searching for addons is disabled.

We anticipate the media server being back online and functional tomorrow, and when it is, we will re-enable these features. It's not all bad, though: while our programmers were struggling to keep the site functional today, they were able to enact a number of database optimizations that should speed up the site noticeably.
