Curse.com Pre-opening

We will be launching Curse.com tomorrow afternoon, and we'd like to request that everyone hop on over to the website and click your hearts out. We know there are still some display issues, as well as backend bugs, and we will be working non-stop today/tomorrow to get them all fixed.

You will find a lot of new features, as well as many refined features on the website, and we encourage you to test these out as well.

  • Curse is now Google powered!
  • The projects hosting now includes a field for "install guide" -- this will be filled in with a default install guide (created by us) but any author can override the setting for his project.
  • You will now find a new projects administration area; http://my.curse.com/account/projects (still a WIP)
  • Our video section is finally available! Upload and watch videos right from your PC. No need to download, no need to wait.
  • You can now blog about your adventurse in Azeroth, or wherever they may lie.
  • Our World of Warcraft database enters public beta testing. Contribute data as well as information about your characters.
  • My.Curse profiles are now available. We will be expanding on the features available for your profile over the coming weeks, but we are quite proud to announce the availability of EVE Online, World of Warcraft, and Vanguard: Saga of Heroes character support.

We want to thank everyone who has been helping us debug and improve the website over the past month, and we encourage you to keep the suggestions and bug reports coming!

Login Issues on New site:

Won't let me login. I am registered on this site with a user name and password. BUT, the new site asks for the email address and password. It doesn't like either.

The new site is looking pretty slick. One HUGE request though: can we get a more familiar dark scheme (like the existing one). The whiteness of the new one makes my eyes bleed...

Hmm I like the new page but call be a stickler... atm I;m liking the old one (this one more) :D

this sites currently more user friendly and easier to navigate imo :) but keep up the good work

There are adds on the pages? hmm odd. I dont see anything. Maybe its because I use FireFox. but then again i wouldnt be cause dead using anything else.

If you don't like ads, run FireFox, and install the addon "NoScript" (also available at Mozilla's Addon central), then allow scripts from Curse.com, and block everything else ;)

We only have two ads on the site; that's actually less ads than World of Raids as well.

Where are all those adds you are talking about? I can see 2 adds, one in the top and one in the side. Running a site like curse is probably not cheap - So 2 adds is hardly overdoing it? :)

There is none. It's something we'll look at once the Windows version is out of beta.
