Animal Crossing to go MMO

The hit DS game Animal Crossing is famous for its thrilling multiplayer mode that shows just how much fun the game is and since its release, the gaming gurus of the World have wondered just what an Animal Crossing MMO would look like.

Well, they may get their wish with rumors that an Animal Crossing MMO is indeed, in the works.

That's not to say that the title will be PC based. Rumors suggest that the Animal Crossing MMO will debut on the Wii and not the PC which is exciting for not only console fans but the raw Wii fans as well.

For those of you who don't know, Animal Crossing allows you to take control of a character and live out their day to day lives in this brilliant life simulator game. Along the way you will be able to have your own house, create your own star constellations and visit town hall to sort out your bank account, along with a multiplayer feature that allows you to visit your friends towns.

With the rumor of a Halo MMO and now an Animal Crossing MMO, we may be witnessing the first attempt at bringing the Worlds highest earning genre of gaming to the console platform sooner, rather than later. However, with the shelf life of a tin of beens, are consoles really the right platform for MMO titles or are development and publishing companies being too bold with these announcements?
