Release Delayed Until Fall 2008
EA Mythic has decided to give their upcoming Warhammer MMO a bit more time in the oven. A post over on Warhammer Alliance confirms a delay rumor that cropped up over night, with Jeff Hickman officially announcing it at a press event in Europe.
At the Press Event in Paris, Jeff Hickman revealed today that Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning would be delayed again. The new target for release is Fall 08. Mark has been so kind as tomake his own post about the delay over here, and he will do his best to answer any questions you might have.
We could have waited to announce a delay, and in doing so take advantage of the hype surrounding the of the Collector’s Edition to sell a ton of copies. However, that has never been the way we’ve done business and that is not about to change now. We’ve always told the community that when a delay was necessary we would tell them right away, and we’re doing just that. I wish I could say all other developers do this but the fact is that they don't. We did what's right for the game but delaying the release and what's right for the community by announcing it now.
Mark Jacobs has also started a thread over at Warhammer Alliance where he's taking questions, so if you want to join in and see if Mark can answer yours, head over!
We've spoken with EA Mythic today to gather more information on the delay, what it means for potential players, the beta, and more. We should have that available shortly, so keep an eye out!
